CRP & SAA
Background: Spring is a season of renewal, with changing weather patterns and increased outdoor activities, it also brings an increase in bacterial and influenza activity. Many infections start with subtle symptoms that can be easy to dismiss as "just a spring cold." But early detection is key to effective treatment and preventing minor issues from becoming major health concerns.
Introduction: Within this context, we introduce our CRP/SAA combo test. C-Reactive Protein (CRP) and Serum Amyloid A (SAA) are key inflammatory biomarkers widely used in clinical settings. While CRP has long served as the standard indicator for systemic inflammation, SAA offers complementary clinical value by rising more rapidly in response to viral infections and inflammatory stress.
What is CRP?
C-Reactive Protein (CRP) is your body's "early warning system" for inflammation. This sensitive marker rises within 6-8 hours of infection or injury, helping doctors identify issues before they escalate.

What is SAA?
Serum Amyloid A (SAA) offers enhanced sensitivity for viral infections. It is an acute-phase protein primarily synthesized by the liver in response to inflammatory stimuli. It detects inflammation even earlier than CRP, making it ideal for catching seasonal illnesses in their earliest stages.
Combined Application
When combined, CRP and SAA testing provide:
